The album 'Black Market Music' is the follow up to their platinum selling 'Without You I'm Nothing', which was released way back in October 1998!

Recorded at London's Olympic Studio's and mixed at The Townhouse, the new album has contributors aplenty including Swedish Singer-Songwriter Stina Nordenstam, Linoleum Singer-Guitarist Caroline Finch and One-Inch Punch Rapper Justin Warfield.

The success story so far....

Since Placebo burst onto the music scene almost six years ago, they have made a tremendous mark with their complexed sound that takes influences from the likes of Bowie, Waits and a little PJ Harvey. Their first taster of the success was back in 1995 with their debut single 'Come Home' which reached number three in the indie charts and was released through Deceptive Records.

Shortly afterwards, Brian, Steve and Stefan signed to Hut Recordings which lead to a spot supporting David Bowie on several European tour dates which came about after hearing one of their demos and being extremely impressed. This lead to other hits including 'Nancy Boy' and a guest appearance at Bowie's 50th birthday in Madison Square Garden, New York. The self-tilted debut album achieved gold status whilst the follow up album 'Without You I'm Nothing' to date has sold over 300,000 copies.

With the release of their eagerly awaited third album 'Black Market Music', comes two number 1's positions in France and Greece with three weeks at the top in Greece. Affter the huge success of this album, Placebo will also be performing in Europe throughout November. The Y2K is the year of Placebo!
